| BACK | Southern LanesSimpsonville, SCThis week we used pattern C2. We were in an old wood house, resurfaced 1½ years ago. This house normally will puddle up the middle and keep the outside 10 boards very dry. I believe this caused this pattern to play more like pattern B on Friday, which has a little more hold in the middle. Saturday and Sunday were more like this pattern should play. There were 18 left handers in the tournament and 5 made the top 32 while 4 made it to the top 16.Most of the left handers were playing around 10 but with so few in the tournament, this was based on visual observations and not from the graphs. Blue Line = Tape at 15 feet Yellow Line = Tape at 25 feet Red Line = Tape at 37 feet The right handers on A squad were playing from 15 early-20 late, at 15 feet, out to about 10 early-15 late, at 25 feet, and out to about 8 early-12 late, at 37 feet. The right handers on B squad had 2 groups. One group (mostly crankers) was starting out left of 20 at 15 feet, out to about 16-18 at 25 feet and out to about 12 at 37 feet. The other group (mostly tweeners and straight players) were around 14-18 at 15 feet, out to about 10-12 at 25 feet, and out to about 10 at 37 feet. Pleas keep in mind that there were 16 more bowlers on B squad. This is why the graphs show a greater depletion than A squad. This is something you should consider if you get placed on a squad that has more bowlers on it. On Sunday it looked like the stronger players had a better look but it was very different pair to pair because of the age of the house. I was surprised that a lefty did not make it to the final 4, but a lefty did take out the top seed in the first round. In the second round he lost to a 268 and 289.
