| BACK | Southern LanesSpring HillThe pattern used this week was #4B. This pattern is 41 feet with a flat pattern forward and a build up on the return and is the same pattern used last week, with a little less volume, This is proving to be a very tough pattern. For the match play finals, this pattern produced a variety of styles. The right handers on 'A' squad, 'B squad and Match Play all played 'in' starting the ball at around 20 or a little left, at 15 feet (blue line), 'out' to around R16 at 25 feet (yellow Line) and 'out' to around R10 at 39 feet (red line). The left handers tried to play 'out' to the gutter but did not seem to find much out there. Most did not score until they started playing 'in' to the right of L6 - L8. On Sunday, the 2 left handers played up between L6 - L8 most of the day. There were 8 qualifiers on 'A' squad and 8 qualifiers on 'B' squad for the 2nd straight week. This was the closest that I have seen both squads play the lanes. Norman Simard Laneman for the Southern Region |
