Here is my report for the round of 8 at the PBA Geico Earl Anthony Classic in Tacoma, WA.

On the TV finals I was in the opening match against Mike Wolf. I decided to use a reactive ball (#1532) and play around 15. I started the match with a shot which went high leaving the 3-4-6-7 split which I missed. I don't know why I had trouble getting lined up after having practice.

Mike also started with a bad shot, but picked up the 1-2-8-10 washout followed by a strike. I doubled to get back into the match. Mike went light his next 2 shots missing the bucket (2-4-5-8) in the 4th. I added another strike before leaving a 10 pin. Mike got tapped his next 2 shots. I struck on my next 2 shots. Mike went wide on his 7th frame leaving the 1-2-4-10 washout which he made and struck in the 8th. I struck in the 8th frame and left another 10 pin in the 9th which virtually gave me the game. Mike went high in the 9th and I ended up winning the game 236-167. Mike DeVaney ended up beating Bob Learn Jr in the first semi final match 258-211.

I bowled Norm Duke in the 2nd semi final match. I left a 4 pin in the 1st frame while Norm started out striking. After a strike in the 2nd I left a 7 pin in the 3rd. Norm continued striking. I finally got a double while Norm kept striking. After the commercial break I tried to make an adjustment on the right lane to hit the pocket better and the ball hooked to much leaving me with the 3-6-7-10 split which I missed. I needed some serious help from Norm, but he kept striking. I doubled and then left a 10 pin in the 9th. Norm struck out for a perfect 300 game to beat my 213. I guess I need to get better!

On the TV show I had 17 strikes out of 24 shots. I had no strikes while missing the pocket. I missed the pocket twice. My strike % on pocket shots was 17 out of 22 pocket shots or 77%.
I had two opens, both were splits (3-4-6-7, 3-6-7-10).

On the TV show my opponents had 15 strikes out of 23 shots. They had two strikes while missing the pocket, a tripped 2 pin (Mike) and a tripped 4-7-10 (Norm). They missed the pocket 7 times, 6 by Mike.
Their strike % on pocket shots was 13 out of 16 pocket shots or 81%.
They had 2 opens, one was a splits (4-7-10) and a missed bucket 2-4-5-8. Mike did pick up two washouts (1-2-8-10 and 1-2-4-10).

In the title match Mike DeVaney started with the first 8 strikes to beat Norm Duke in a very exciting match 279-248. It was Mike's first title and there will probably be more of them for him.
