Sometimes this is a very high scoring condition with the outside couple of boards hooking due to no oil being on them. However it seems as though the pattern has been 'adjusted' and the outside couple of boards will let the ball fall into the channel whereas before the ball would bounce off of them. Depending on the pair you are on and how the lanes break down (oil pattern that is) scores can get quite high. But scores seemed to be a bit lower on this pattern than last year on this pattern. My round of 64 match was against Jimmy Johnson. Jimmy has bowled on tour for many years and despite being a very good bowler only has 1 tour title. Unfortunately for Jimmy, he wasn't able to get one of the 58 exemptions for this season. So Jimmy had to qualify out of the PTQ tournament. We both kind of struggled at the beginning of the match with me winning the first 3 games. Jimmy got some good breaks in the next 3 games and evened the match. I finally started to carry and shot 269 to win the last game and the match.
