At Phoenix this year we bowled on the 'Shark' pattern. In practice I again had a decent reaction playing very close to the channel. So, realizing that the lanes normally get tighter every round, I drilled another ball with more surface so that I could play the lanes close to where I was in the practice session. In the first round I played up the 2nd board with my new ball and it worked pretty well. I didn't get very many breaks in my 3rd game leaving 4 10 pins. In the 4th game I left a rip 7-10 in the 10th frame. In game 6 the right lane bounced quite a bit and the lane hooked quite a bit more. Unfortunately I had a little bit of trouble hitting the pocket on that lane to shoot 210. A couple of bad shots in the last game with some taps left me a disappointing 187. I was +141 for the 7 games which had me in pretty good shape.
