In my round of 8 match I bowled against Rick Steelsmith. Rick was basically bowling for an exemption. Winning the match would about guarantee him an exemption for next year besides making the TV finals. Rick bowled very well except for a few bad shots here and there and 2 missed spares. Twice he had the chance to beat me in the 10th frame after I had already finished where he needed 2 strikes to beat me. Both times he struck on his first shot and left solid 10's on his 2nd shot. The 2nd time was in the 5th game after I missed the 3-6-10 in the 10th frame which would have won the game outright and the match. Again I played near the 2nd arrow. I believe Rick ended up finishing in 7th place which puts him in about 36th place in the points race. With one week to go he needs a decent finish and not too many guys behind him to have great weeks.
