My round of 8 match was against Chris Barnes. Chris started off great with a 279 while I had several bad shots the first game. I managed to win game 2 by striking in the 10th frame. In game 3 Chris struck out to beat me by 12. With a few taps at the end of game 4 for Chris I managed to strike out to beat him by 8 pins. Game 5 wasn't very close as Chris beat me with a 247. Game 6 saw Chris pretty much flush every ball leaving 2 solid 10's and a solid 8 in successive shots. Despite missing the pocket twice, once in frame 3 and the other on my fill ball, I managed to strike on every other shot including the first one in the 10th to win game 6. Unfortunately for me Chris kept flushing the pocket as he left another solid 8 in the 5th frame of game 7 while I wasn't able to carry everything like I did in game 6 and Chris won the final game easily with a 268. I started the match trying to play fairly straight up 5. But switched to a more aggressive ball and hooked it a bit more starting in game 2. It looked really good except for several shots which I yanked for several splits. By the 7th game I was looking at 13 on the left lane and 12 on the right with Chris a board or 2 left of me. It was another great week for me. But despite having the high average in the tournament for the 4th consecutive week I wasn't able to make the TV finals. Hopefully I can continue my great bowling into the Dexter Tournament of Champions!
