The US Open is one of my favorite tournaments. I like it mainly because it is on the most demanding lane condition that we bowl on. The tournament is open to any bowler who averages 190 or better in league. Unfortunately for most of them, the lane conditions that the tournament are bowled on are much tougher than their leagues. Most players will average 30 to 40 pins lower in this tournament than their leagues at home. There was a full field of 492 bowlers with about a 40 person waiting list.

I started the tournament playing my first game around 12 with a little bit of hook using a semi shiny Awesome Revs. I shot a 254 which is great in any tournament, but phenomenal in this one. I kept moving left each game and ended up playing around the 6th arrow my last 3 games using a slightly scuffed Ravage bailing them all out in the 10th frame to finish at +47 which isn't that great with the start I had.
