My 2nd match didn't go as well as I would have liked. My opponent, Billy Oatman, didn't really bowl that great, but unfortunately for me I couldn't get anything going either. An odd thing happened during my match with Billy. Lane 27 had a panel where we slide was coming up and my slide shoe was just catching it. In the match in the morning on that pair, the match was moved to the alternate pair as it was really affecting one of the players. The staff 'fixed' the approach, but at the end of the first game it started to come back up again. I wasn't really affecting me, but it was bothering me. I was hoping that they could do a quick fix. I would have rather bowled the rest of the match on the same pair instead of moving, but the tournament director had already decided that if there was a problem with the approach they were going to move the match to the alternate pair.
I didn't really like my reaction going fairly straight for most of the tournament. Most of my big games were when I hooked the ball. I am taking the week off this next week for a little R & R. Hopefully I will be back in Irving TX bowling great.
